A MiexD project
01 / The approach
Begin with the platform, the terms, and the costs. Build a demo routine before moving into chart examples or a particular market.
Start with MT5 installation, the correct broker server, and a demo account. Find Market Watch, charts, and the instrument specifications.
Understand bid and ask, contract size, spread, commission, and overnight financing. Ask how an introducing broker is paid and whether any extra markup applies.
Work through demo orders, position sizing, and a journal. Study later examples such as gold with the basics in place. Demo results do not establish live performance.
02 / Cost clarity
An education offer can come without an upfront fee. Trading still has costs. A useful lesson should make those costs easier to understand.
XAUUSD / A cost experiment
A small-looking spread scales with your position. Compare two total bid–ask gaps, then add each example’s commission to see more of the cost.
Example contract: 1 lot = 100 troy ounces. All amounts are USD. Check your exact XAUUSD symbol’s contract size and charges in MT5 before applying this example. Published contract reference (PDF, opens in a new tab) ↗
02 / Add any known commissions
Blank = unknown. Enter 0 only for a zero-commission example.Example A / Total spread
0.08 USD / troy oz
Example B / Total spread
0.50 USD / troy oz
Use each example’s own rate. If a rate covers opening and closing (round trip), divide it by two for this per-side field. Leaving it blank still shows spread impact, but keeps the combined cost incomplete.
No account needed. Calculations stay in your browser.
Choose your lot size, enter any known commissions, then simulate entry.
Combined initial cost = spread impact + one side’s commission. Open + close assumes unchanged quotes and equal commission on each side: count the spread once, plus both sides’ commissions. ≈ indicates rounding to cents; a broker may round charges differently.
| Lots | 0.08 spread | 0.50 spread | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.01 | $0.08 | $0.50 | $0.42 |
| 0.10 | $0.80 | $5.00 | $4.20 |
| 1.00 | $8.00 | $50.00 | $42.00 |
Spread impact = total spread × 100 ounces × lots. Enable JavaScript to choose a position size and add separate commissions.
Why a trade can start below zero. A buy opens at the ask and is valued for closing at the bid; a sell opens at the bid and is valued for closing at the ask. That gap creates the initial spread impact. It is not a separate cash fee. Commission timing and presentation depend on the account.
These are unnamed teaching scenarios, not current broker quotes or a claim about who receives a markup. Actual spreads vary. Estimates exclude price movement, slippage, overnight financing, other fees, and account-currency conversion. The simulator’s 1.00-lot maximum is an example limit, not a suggested position size.
The gap between bid and ask is one part of the cost. A broker’s pricing may include a markup; a wider spread alone does not establish its cause or who receives it.
Check separate commissions, overnight financing, and other account charges. Compare the same instrument, position size, account type, and market conditions.
IB arrangements vary. Ask whether compensation comes from the broker’s revenue, an added markup, or another agreed fee. Understand the cost before you accept the offer.
Our relationship, in plain sight. MiexD earns commissions based on eligible trading volume from referred Switch Markets clients. That creates an incentive for clients to trade. Review your account’s complete charges with Switch Markets, including any applicable markup, before making an account decision.

See the course outline04 / The planned Academy access model
Future full Academy access is planned for eligible clients with a funded account confirmed under MiexD’s Switch Markets referral.
Enrollment is not open. The broker referral is available above, but registering or funding does not unlock Academy lessons. Do not register or deposit funds to obtain Academy access while enrollment is closed.
Availability depends on your country, the applicable Switch Markets entity, and local requirements. Switch Markets confirms whether you are eligible for its services.
The referral takes eligible clients to Switch Markets, where they review the broker’s terms and make their own account decisions. MiexD does not take deposits or handle broker credentials.
When Academy enrollment opens, referral attribution and successful funding must be checked against broker records before a manual access decision. A clicked link or screenshot alone is not confirmation.
05 / A little clarity
A broker referral for eligible clients, a public learning preview, and the full Academy still being prepared.
MiexD Markets is the financial-markets branch of MiexD. It provides an educational preview and a disclosed referral to Switch Markets. Trading accounts are opened directly with the broker. MiexD does not execute trades, take client deposits, or provide a member trading platform.
Not yet. The member platform, course recordings, and enrollment arrangements are in preparation. Registering or funding through the broker referral does not unlock Academy lessons. The public sample is free and requires no broker account or deposit.
